About us

The Charter Oak Model A Club is a non-profit organization and a chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America. The purpose of our club is to promote, enjoy, preserve, and protect the Model A Ford car; to serve as a medium for the exchange of ideas, information, parts, and to help fellow members in the restoration and preservation of the Model A Ford. We participate in community events, tours, shows, and just about anything we can!

Our chapter meets at the Blain Motorsports Foundation located at 3008 S. Burke st. Visalia,Ca on the second Monday of the month.

You don’t have to own a Model A to join, just have the desire to participate in the hobby, sooner or later, you’ll get the bug for an “A”! Charter Oak dues are $20.00 per family and are payable to the Club Treasurer. Membership in the Model A Ford Club of America is not a prerequisite to join the Charter Oak A’s, however, we encourage membership in the national organization. President’s Message

2022 President David Martinez & his wife Martha

Charter Oak A's was chartered in 1970 under the auspices of the Model A Ford Club of America, which was initiated in 1955.
Our first president in 1970 was Richard Henderson. From the time Richard was president to now, the club has grown into a leader in the Model A Ford hobby in Tulare County. We now have about 40 member families boasting of about 30 active Model A's that are driven on the streets very often and many others in progress. We are a growing club with our youngest members being 21-years-old and the oldest about 90. That's quite a spread in age, but one that is very compatible as all of us like to drive "Henry's Lady", the Model A Ford.

To be a member you only have to be interested in Ford Model A. It's not a requirement to own one, but if you join our club you will almost immediately want one as we make trips in our cars to far and near places. Yes, we drive them on the roads, sometimes hundreds of miles. We try to drive ours almost everyday, whether around town or on a far stretch down the road. We not only take trips but as a club also put our cars on display in car shows, parades and community events. We are also working hard to renew the past practices of helping club members in need or with knowledge about their own cars and striving on returning as many to road as possible. We strive to be ambassadors of the past and continue to relive the romance of the era.

We look forward to your contact!
